This used to be The Local. Recently changed it to The Rutherford. Right next to Penn Station/MSG. Has a nice vibe dining area and a small rooftop. The food overall was good. The chicken Sandwich came with 2 pieces of chicken. Shockingly, not overwhelming. And the Burger came with 2 smashed patties. Both on the classic sesame seed bun. Fries are the battered/coated kind which makes them very crispy and crunchy. The buffalo bites were delicious pieces of white meat, drenched in buffalo sauce which wasnt overpowering. The sesame seeds on top made a great vibrant presentation.

I spent 2 days in NY City for Wallstreet program launching and on the way I visited this place. Amazing vibe! Hospitality of servers, bar tenders, bar area vibe all great!!! Amazing chicken wings!

Nice spot for happy hour drinks after work, rooftop bar is first come first serve but even on a busy afternoon you can wait for a table. Views of MSG, Moynihan train hall and Hudson Yards.

Refresh of Local West is delightful. Food and drink options are much better! Highly recommend this place!

Great restaurant in a great location! You can sit on the rooftop and look down on Madison Square Garden and 8th Ave, watch the hassle while enjoying your meal and drinks. The food is good and prices are reasonable.

I hosted a graduation party here recently, and had such an incredible experience! The rooftop is so nice, yet not too decorated so I could put up a few decorations. The staff were so nice and accommodating; the manager and bartender each came up to me multiple times throughout the night just to check in. We order trays of food and lots of drinks, and even though you're right in the heart of Manhattan, it wasn't super expensive. Everyone had such a great time, and I cannot recommend this location enough!

Highly recommend if you want a quick bite to eat in the city. They’re brunch hours are11am 5 PM Saturday and Sunday.

I came over the weekend and had a great experience! Valentina, the hostess, was incredibly kind and welcoming. She greeted us with a warm smile and made sure we were seated comfortably right away. Her friendly attitude really made a difference, thank you, Valentina!

Today, I had an excellent experience at the restaurant. The food was delicious, and Ricardo (Chilean) service was impeccable. He was very kind and attentive at all times. I will definitely be back! Everything was a 10/10!

Newly opened bar next to Penn Station which replaced Local Bar. The exact same place now renovated for better interiors.. indoors are good and has a decent sized rooftop. Perfect place to grab a quick drink before getting on a train!

This place recently opened and clearly doesn't have its act together yet. I went here with my three teenage sons, mostly because it was close to our hotel and were tired from a few days of sight-seeing. I had a reservation, and we were seated immediately. Someone came and took our drink orders, and then someone else (who turned out to be our actual server) came to take them about 10 seconds later. He then took about 15 minutes to come back and take our food order. We ordered nachos (which were quite good), two burgers (average at best), spicy rigatoni (pretty good), and a steak sandwich (very good). For some reason the nachos (a starter) came out at the same time as two of our entrees, and the other two came out about 10 minutes later (not cool with teenage boys). Our drinks sat empty for quite a while, and no one ever even asked me if I wanted another beer. The fries were lukewarm. When we were done, no one came to give us the check for a good 15 minutes (huge pet peeve of mine). On top of all of that, they charged for refills on the kids' sodas, which is insult to injury when you don't even ask if I want another beer on a Friday night. I'm not ashamed to say that I left a sub-10% tip - something I haven't done in a long, long time. Honestly, any tip was generous after this experience. They need to close for a few weeks to train their staff.

I used to stop in during lunch when this place was called Local NYC. My first visit to this new restaurant was this past Easter for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant has the same vibe as the previous place, in my opinion, which is a good thing. The service was great, and my server was attentive and friendly. The food and drinks were even better and came out super fast. The bartender (whom I can't remember her name) can whip up a really good margarita. My Spicy Rigatoni Pasta with Chicken had a good flavor as well. They have a very limited menu with reasonable prices, and the place is clean. Since I work in the area, I will definitely come back in the future to check out the rooftop area.

My husband and I stopped by for drinks and our bartender, Cat was so accommodating and refreshing. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and very friendly. She made it a lovely Saturday afternoon!

We had such a wonderful time at The Rutherford! We came in during the week as a large group of 10+ people for drinks and bites. Aidan was such a great help! He was helpful, funny, sweet, and so attentive to our many requests. I will definitely be here again, and I hope for exactly the same experience! Thank you, Aidan!

Great diner with kids and friends after watching Annie. It was no super crowded and they made room for us immediately. Drinks were great and so was the food.

Decided to get a late lunch and drink while i waited for my train but ended up only getting a drink after waiting about 30mins for someone to take an order. A lovely gentleman brought me water almost immediately but the server/bartender was super rude. I overheard him taking food orders from the other tables but he said that I had to leave my table and go to the bar to order. The Frozen Lychee Martini is delicious so I'd be interested in coming back next time I'm in the city cause the food at the other tables looked good. So disappointed.

We made a reservation at The Rutherford to watch Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Knicks and Pacers, and it did not disappoint. The energy in the place was electric, with fans fully engaged and the atmosphere buzzing from start to finish. The wings were a standout, great flavor and a bit different from the usual, which made them even more memorable. Overall, it was the perfect spot to catch a big game, and we’ll definitely be coming back in the future!

The Rutherford is very nice it's been renovated and it's rooftop is perfect for chilling with friend and the food is amazing I like to go there for drink the bartender made me my usual drink a Whiskey Sour but I definitely like going to this Bar/restaurant.

Horrible service. was seated and then ignored for 20 minutes. Finally got a Pepsi which was flat and tasted like water. Waited another 15 minutes before we had to stop someone to order. Food came out 5 minutes later with room temp buffalo chicken bites and a basic salad. I understand it’s NY and prices are higher, but $15 for cut up lettuce and a handful of croutons and $17 for 8 cold boneless wings?? The only time the server came up to the table without us yelling out for service was to clear up the table the second I put the fork down. Meanwhile almost every server we seen was helping all the tables surrounding us. And then again had to wait for a server to walk by to get the check. Horrible service and expensive boring food. Honestly even if service wasn’t all that , i’d expect some good food. But not even that. Very disappointed. Only giving 1 star because the scenery outside was nice, (i would give zero if i could) but other than that won’t come again.
