My husband and I reserved a 2-person omakase tasting with the sake pairing. When we entered, we were not seen for a minute (not a problem) as it seemed busy but the restaurant was not full and we were 15 minutes early. Finally one of the servers told us we could wait at the bar while our bar seats for the tasting were prepared. I asked if we were able to hang our coats on the rack. Once we placed our own coats on the rack, we sat at the bar and were ignored until our seats were ready. So, we had no chance to order a drink before the start of the meal. Not a huge problem since we were doing the sake pairing. We sat for the tasting and another server "took our order" and we acknowledged we were in fact ordering the tasting. The first appetizer came and we were unprepared because it was not presented to us as the start of the tasting and we assumed the first sake pairing would also be poured along WITH any dish. When the server was back near us, I inquired about the state of the sake pairing and then 3 servers came to our side. The older man with glasses chastised us for not telling the server we were doing the sake pairing (didn't know we were on the clock for training staff), but not knowing how their reservation system operates we assumed you'd prepare what we reserved. The food was fine, but the purpose of the pairing was to have the dishes and drinks flow together "like a symphony" (as the nicer server told us). Unfortunately, this birthday dinner symphony was out of tune and discordant. The sake descriptions were also not...accurate. It made for a strange experience because most of the sakes were delicious! The assistant chef was great, but they were also having to act as a serving counter for the servers. It was quite chaotic. Also, you should have paper towels in the bathrooms. Especially considering there's a lot of hand usage in this type of cuisine. Maybe it was understaffing because near the end of our dinner, the previous bartender was pushed out on the floor as a sever and someone else was behind the bar. The seafood tasted fresh, so that's nice. But when we spend nearly $400 on a birthday dinner, we expect the entire experience to match.

Amazing! My boyfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day. From the second we walked in, Mariam offered us a coat check. We were then seated at the sushi bar for a one of a kind 15 course meal. The chef was incredible to say the least. Another employee, Sunny, offered us drinks and taught us a lot about each course served. Not only was the food delicious, but the owner Bobby was so kind and came to chat with us for a bit. Will rate 11/10 and will be back.

We came here for our anniversary. The food (15 course omakase) was excellent, and the service even better. Sonny, the manager, made a big deal out of our special occasion and it made it even more of a memorable celebration. Looking forward to dining here again!

Had the 17 course omakase ($100) and the sake pairing (five 2 oz pours for $45). Food was excellent, great variety. Sake pairing were tasty as well. They had a guy here who was the sake supplier and could tell you whatever you wanted to know about the sake

A great experience from start to end. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The chef who prepared our sushi took his time to explain what each piece was as we made them to perfection. The food was delicious and worth it. Highly recommend you visit.

Had a wonderful experience at Kaizen. Once you step in the doors, the staff greeted us and seated us immediately. We had the Winter Omakase Experience paired with the Dassai Blue Sake flight. We also ordered some extra handrolls on the side. Great food and great atmosphere for a date night.

The Omakase experience was awesome. We sat at the bar and the chef paced us with each course. He explained what Each course was and everything was so delicious and fresh! That Fatty tuna with truffle on top was amazing! Would definitely come back to try out their seasonal menu.

The sushi here is nothing short of phenomenal. This fish is very fresh, and each piece is crafted with precision. Highly recommend the Omakase if you want to experience the chef's best selections. Service was attentive and the presentation of each dish was artful. The prices are reasonable for the quality, making it a great choice for a date night or special occasion.

TLDR: i’d prefer to drop 400+$ in a very nice omakase in Manhattan with way better service, food quality and ambiance. Food is just ok for a tab of 400$+ for 2 people. 3 drinks, 2 omakase and 3 extra rolls at the end. The omakase courses, they made a miso soup one course?? It was super diluted. The service was not bad because there was no service to speak of. The waiters were just dropping food, but never attentive or checking in. The only one who cared at all was the sushi chef, and it was hard to hear his presentation of the dish over the loud music. Had to repeat it several for most dishes. The atmosphere is ok, but reminded me more of a club, and was not nice to be able to see the kitchen bright light from my seat at the omakase bar. You can also see the waiters throwing out the food from the plates leftovers and throwing them in buckets to be later taken to be cleaned inside the dining room. The food experience itself was odd as it started pretty mid, and the latter half had enjoyable rolls/onigiri. But all throughout, the rice was more al dente (slightly hard, weird) and they would put SO LITTLE rice on some of the nigiri sushi courses. In the pics, the rice is hard to see. Also, we mentioned it was our aniversary in the reservation, and we had to remind them when they had brought us our tab. Dissapointing.

If you want a really tasty Omakase experience then look no further. This place delivers! The ambiance here was perfect, makes for a great date spot. It can get busy here so definitely make a reservation especially if you want a seat at the sushi bar. Drinks were on point. They have a decent selection of Sake and Japanese Whiskey. When it comes to food, you can order either an Omakase course or food by itself. There are two Omakase courses which vary in number of courses and price. We went with the 20 course Omakase which cost a 100 per head. The chefs really do a great job with the Omakase, starting with apps such as crab tempura, oyster miso soup etc. The Omakase later progresses with nigiri sushi which was on point. Unlike other places, the sushi chefs here use actual sake vinegar with the rice to give the nigiri that authentic sushi taste. You can order additional rolls you like at the end of the omakase but at full price. My recommendation, go for the otoro (fatty tuna). Honestly you have to go and try it yourself, you won't regret it.

I like this place for special occasions. Atmosphere is nice. I like their sake pairing, introduced us to new sake. food tasted pretty good overall. but for 15 course omakase of $100 per person, things came out very fast. No one was done with first five pieces of sushi that came out and they gave us another four set of sushi. I barely could hear/understand the lady explaining what they were. And no one told us that we were done after last handroll before dessert. and portions of each piece was pretty small that we end up ordering extra handrolls.

It was exceptional! The food and I mean EVERY DISH I wish I could've had 2 or 3 servings of while doing the 17 course Omakase with my wife. We got seated a little late, but the boss comped our drinks at the bar in which he didn't need to do. The atmosphere was on point and plenty good scenery to take photos. I highly recommend and will be back again.

If I could add more stars to the service category, I’d definitely give more! Thank you, Danya, Jeffrey, and Jessica, for your attentive and outstanding service. I loved the warm, comforting towelettes—it was a nice touch to start the meal. Every dish we tried was simple and refreshing, with a clean, healthy taste. Not overly seasoned, but fresh and flavorful. We’re definitely coming back—and bringing more people with us!🇵🇷🙏🏻

Omakase was amazing and a great value. The variety was notable. Not just different fish, but also textires, spicy and sweet, cool andnwarmed. Staff was attentive and professional, but also kind. And, when dessert was mentioned, I thought heck, I'm too full. But it was a perfect omakase sized bite of sweetness.

Kaizen Omakase is such a beautiful place—intimate, elegant, and perfect for a special night. My husband and I really enjoyed the whole experience. We did their 15-course omakase for $100, and every single piece was so fresh and beautifully prepared. The appetizers like the rock shrimp tempura, tuna tartare, and honey-glazed ribs were full of flavor, and we loved the hand rolls too. We also tried the spicy matcha margarita and mango cocktail—both were so good! Sunny took such great care of us—he was warm, welcoming, and explained each course with so much passion. We can’t wait to go back!
