This used to be one of my favorite bars in Bushwick but the quality has really gone down in the last few years (since the expansion). Plus the quality of the grilled cheese has gone down significantly. Used to be the best I'd ever had!

Security kicked me out, acussing me of falling asleep at the bar, when I was just looking at my phone completely sober and coherent just started my second beer and a shot that the bar tender had given me, I drew the flyer for the he DJ that was playing that night , pretty much the only reason I would ever step foot in that place lol but y'all will never ever get a nother dollar out of me LoL mid af..

I originally came here to check out their wine selection, which was surprisingly great! But I’m so glad they also had food because I was so hungry. It made it so that I didn’t have to leave and I was able to enjoy my whole time there ! The vibes on the patio are immaculate, they have a DJ upstairs and there’s a little area for a dance floor, it wasn’t fully occupied, but could be a whole lot of fun. I also checked out their basement & it seems like a great place to unexpectedly see a random bushwick garage band. Supposedly they have late night club vibes down there too !

Will reply here since there’s no other options. The other group were friends or acquaintances of the DJ as we heard while waiting alongside them. They kept on insisting they knew the DJ to the bouncer, not mentioning they were the performers themselves. The bouncer was polite and respectful so we didn’t have any issues with him. It is understandable that there are strict regulations about ID. However, the owner or manager’s double standards are hypocritical as he did not adhere the bar’s policies to everyone. Racist. Got in a group of african americans in without ID but not asian americans

AWFUL EXPERIENCE! I was treated horribly at Hart Bar. My ID was stolen, but I had other proof of my age, and this one rude blonde woman behind the bar still refused me entry — despite letting other white patrons in without a problem. Also come to find out there were a TON of underage college kids there. It felt blatantly racist. This bar is a prime example of the gentrification happening in our community, where BIPOC folks get pushed out and disrespected while white-owned establishments thrive. Disgusting and disrespectful. I’ll be taking my black dollars elsewhere and hope others do as well.

I love Hart Bar. I have never ever in my life had a bad experience here. Been coming here for six plus years. I have met the most beautiful kindest humans here amongst the chaos. Love you Hart Bar!

Hey, so, this is my go-to bar in the neighborhood and it kills me to write a review like this, but Hart Bar really disappointed me today. My friend was drugged yesterday night, and today we came in to retrieve the card she'd left and to see if anyone working that night had seen anything strange about the people she was with. She explained to the bartender that she didn't remember anything from the night before and was drugged, and they replied, "I wasn't working yesterday. The only thing I can tell you is it was a slow night." They walked away pretty quickly, and wouldn't come back over even though we kept making eye contact. The bartender was femme/a woman, so it was extra disappointing to not feel any empathy or solidarity from them, or at least an attempt to point us in the direction of someone who could help us find out more. It makes me sad because I love this bar, but I feel like safety is not one of their priorities.

Great place to gather friends, especially if you reserve a free table.

First time coming here visiting out of town. The bartender Sienna was so amazing I am recommending this bar to all my friends that visit out of town! Made it so welcoming as a queer woman definitely different from my small town in Texas. I can’t wait to come back and visit definitely a cool laid back spot to bring friends or just chill at.

I want to love this place, but every time I've visited recently, they've charged me for either double drinks or a random item, hoping I won't notice it on the bill. This has happened three times in the last few months. I'd stop coming here, but it's only a block away from my apartment, and there aren't any better options nearby. I plan to keep going and calling out the bartenders' tricks in front of everyone whenever I notice it. :)

Low key vibes. Mark was a champion and the DJ was grooving. Generally enjoy popping by omw home. But I be doing my own thing so there is that.

One of the worst managers (blonde woman who works at the bar) I’ve ever interacted with in the city - there are so many better establishments in the city to peruse. I’d recommend taking your service there instead! It has nothing to do with showing physical ID or not, it has everything to do with how the bartenders speak to patrons - in rude, condescending, and dismissive tones. I would never frequent this establishment if I was looking for basic human decency and courtesy.

As a bushwick native, It’s embarrassing to say that this used to be one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. If you're looking for a bar with friendly bartenders, I suggest going elsewhere. I was refused service after complimenting and asking about the bartender hair (he had dreadlocks). I get some people are sensitive, but he was straight up disrespectful. I asked him if he could give me a valid reason for note serving me and his response was "I don't want to". After reading the last few reviews I'm so glad he refused me service. I have no interest in spending my money at a place that doesn't protect women or stand up for it's patrons. To clarify, the guys in the kitchen are great and respectful. It's ashamed the bartenders are not.

The blonde woman who works at the bar was EXTREMELY RUDE! Terrible customer service. Awful hospitality. *there is no way to reply to the comment below so I’d like to add that yes, context is important. However, my comment still stands. I understand that you must enforce the rules but there is a kind and polite way to do that. The bouncer was very kind and showed empathy for my friend who had her wallet stolen. The woman at the bar did not. She was unkind, rude, dismissive, and I could go on. I said it once and I’ll say it again. Terrible customer service. Awful hospitality. In your response you said “We assure you that race or ethnicity plays absolutely no role in how we enforce our entry policies. Your accusations are not only misplaced but hurtful & divisive to a community space that everyone works towards enjoying.” What’s hurtful and harmful is putting words in my mouth. In my previous review I did not mention anything about being turned away for race or ethnicity, that feels like more of a projection on your end. Thank you for bringing that to light. The only thing I said is that the blonde woman at the bar was rude and that still stands true (I only mention her being blonde because I didn’t get her name). If you’re concerned about cracking down and following the rules please focus on the people under 21 that were in your establishment. Thanks!

Went there once. Nice drinks. Nice bartenders. Had a fun time. Wish the music was a bit better. The bouncer said I looked beautiful twice as we crossed paths. I figured it was harmless so I thanked him. He followed me out to my Uber as I left and said kept saying “text me when you get home beautiful” and asking if I heard him bc I was clearly ignoring him. This just made me feel super uncomfortable and reluctant to come back tbh

There have now been two distinct experiences where I have been disappointed with the staffs' response to patrons in need. Both times the staff (servers and bartenders) treated the patrons and surrounding people trying to help as nuisances and were reluctant to give necessary information (including the address of the establishment to give to an emergency dispatcher, and about security cameras due to potential drugging). As a fellow bartender, safety is so important, thus it was incredibly disappointing to experience such carelessness from other industry workers. The drinks are mid anyway.
