This place is really really doing great stuff. Went for restaurant week and my gf and I were floored by everything. Right off the bat the bartender Alex was so kind and funny and made deliciously creative cocktails. For restaurant week it’s $60 for 3 courses but what I love is that it’s a starter, a pasta and then a main course without having to have one of those courses be a dessert. Food was all fantastic from presentation to portion to flavor. The whole team was great and they even added a nice dessert and did a fun photo shoot for my gfs birthday. Totally a surprise. Definitely looking to go back soon!

We had a great time and were surprised by the excellent service from the servers and sommelier. We were looked after by at least four people, and even the chef personally brought out one of our dishes. I will be back soon! Incredible level of service, hard to find in New York. And the food is delicious! Try the beet salad and the pistachio creme brulee.

I came here on a whim actually and it was the best whim I’ve ever had. I was out celebrating my husbands birthday and although there were no tables available there was plenty of room at the bar/lounge. The service was so kind and the food is to die for! I had to look up the chef and follow him on IG because he’s just that good!

Bar56 is an enchanting and accessible spot just over the bridge is a solid space to enjoy tartare and a beautiful red wine to pair with it. The lighting is dim and reads as 'date night' and would love to come back for one. Tai was a great bartender and recomended the Wine Tensley (A Red Blend) which was perfection. Thank you Tai - your awesome!

The Branzino with corn was amazing and worth it. We devoured it until the last bit. The tuna tartare topped with caviar was delightful and light. Lamb was easy to cut and had a small crispiness to it, which was really good with the cauliflower. Cocktails were good and strong. Service was attentive and friendly. It's definitely a place to try again.

The food was amazing, every ingredient in each plate matched perfectly, creating a balanced and flavorful experience. They offer something for every taste, with a diverse menu that caters to all preferences. The wine list is also impressive, with great pairings to complement the food. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Brooklyn

A surprising excellent meal we had over the weekend. Full disclosure, I know the founder and the chef's reputation but it was beyond expectations. Food was spectacular, worth the train to Brooklyn and wines were exceptional, must try the 2011 Rioja if you visit.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Bar 56 – Brooklyn’s Hidden Gem We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bar 56 in Brooklyn this evening, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of the DUMBO district, between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, this spot is not just a restaurant – it’s a destination. From the moment we walked in, we were enchanted by the stylish, warm and inviting atmosphere. The space is beautifully designed and creates a perfect setting to enjoy a leisurely and elevated meal with nice background music and perfect ambient lighting. We opted for several small plates to share, including fresh oysters, a divine tuna tartare, and outstanding ravioli. As a side, the Brussels sprouts were simply exceptional. Every bite was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and executed with finesse. The food alone would have been enough to make this a memorable night. The wine list is a standout feature: original and thoughtfully curated, allowing guests to choose based on flavor profiles rather than just region or grape. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio that complemented our dishes perfectly. Our evening was made even more special thanks to the impeccable service. A huge thank you to Yajaira – warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Toward the end of the evening, we had the pleasure of meeting Chef Quintin Demarre, a passionate French chef whose love for food and taste shines in every dish. His enthusiasm and dedication to his craft truly elevate the entire experience. And we can’t forget the desserts (Pistache Crème Brûlée and Apricot Granita) – absolutely phenomenal. Rich, inventive, and beautifully presented. We ended with a nice glass of Royal Tokaji white (dessert) wine from Hungary. The perfect sweet ending to an already flawless meal. Bar 56 is an absolute must-visit for anyone in New York City. It’s worth the short trip to Brooklyn just to experience this level of culinary excellence and genuine hospitality in a great upcoming area. Michelin-worthy in every sense. We’ll definitely be back – and we’ll be telling everyone we know to go.

We wanted to seat inside, but the host told us they could only offer outside seating. It was drizzling. When I went to the bathroom (inside) the place was mostly empty, with 3 tables seated. Never understood why they could not seat us inside. However, drinks were good.

Very alluring bar that looks beautiful from the outside. The food and cocktails weren’t exactly exceptional, but it would be a great spot for tourists looking for a more special experience.

Restaurant in Dumbo with a nice ambiance. It’s a bit hidden in the same building as Time Out Market. Great service and decent food.

Had a great time on my first no corkage Tuesday evening. The oysters and their accompaniments were lovely. We also tried the tuna tartare. The lobster fettuccine is absolutely worth it! Will definitely be back

Everything was really tasty here except for the branzino. The skin wasn't crispy, and it lacked seasoning. The vibe here was clean and professional with woody / retro interiors. The service was excellent. Would come back to try other dishes!

Finally some real good food. The Hiramasa Crudo is fresh and achieves a balance of different flavor and texture, it is quite surprising and interesting to eat. Ravioli is filled with cheese and raw egg yolk, which is creamy and hearty. Sakura pork has plum and onion as side, which makes the pork juicier, and the freshness of fruit contrasts well with the grilled pork. Overall 10/10

Really cute place to grab drinks. I got the magi margarita and it was such a great balance of sweet and a little spice. Quiet place but everyone at the bar was very friendly and engaging with one another. Great wine selection as well!

I finally dined here. I walk past it frequently and have shopped at taste56 but have never actually dined here. Such a wonderful dining experience. Shoutout to Fernando. He took care of my friend and I with such great service and he was so nice when I called to make a reservation the evening before. The salmon tartar topped with beluga caviar was a perfect starter. I was very happy with my branzino. My friend got the cavatelli which she enjoyed as well. I plan on getting that the next time I dine here because the pasta tasted freshly made. For dessert we got the pistachio crème brûlée. There was something in the middle at the bottom that was slightly bitter and the brûlée was quite charred which distracted from the delicious pistachio taste. Overall fantastic dinner and I can’t wait to eat here again!
